Just the other day The Deal Mommy warned us of a not-so-great deal to Hawaii, but in case you still want to go, here’s some good news- Hawaiian Airlines recently announced a special offer with tickets starting from $329 round trip! Tickets must be booked before May 20, 2013 for travel between August 19th and November 20th. As someone who travels to and from the islands regularly for business, I can assure you anything below $350 is a GREAT DEAL.
Just for fun I decided to check out Hawaiian’s flexible date tool to search availability and surprisingly it’s still pretty good, especially midweek. I was able to find to cheapest deals between the following city pairs:
- SJC (San Jose, CA) or OAK (Oakland, CA) to HNL (Honolulu) from $165 each way
- SJC (San Jose, CA) or OAK (Oakland, CA) to OGG (Maui), KOA (Kona), LIH (Kauai), ITO (Hilo) from $171 each way
- SMF (Sacramento, CA or SAN (San Diego, CA) to HNL (Honolulu) from $175 each way
- SMF (Sacramento, CA) or SAN (San Diego, CA) to OGG (Kahului, Maui), KOA (Kona), LIH (Kauai), ITO (Hilo) from $181 each way
- PDX (Portland, OR) to HNL from $195 each way (other islands from $201)
- SEA (Seattle, WA) to all the major islands from $195
TIP- In order to save time on your search and check multiple cities simultaneously, I suggest using ITA Matrix, however be aware that fares shown there might actually be higher than what is available on the Hawaiian website ($359 on ITA = $329 on Hawaiian). Remember as long as you book your tickets directly through Hawaiian, you will still get the lower price as long as its available.
Finally, be on the lookout for potential matches (or close) from Alaska and United. Fall is a great time to travel to the islands and with prices like these, why not?!
Aloha!
